There is only one way to God, and that is through Jesus Christ. No other person or religion can lead people to God. All other theories, opinions and religions are blind shots into the dark; wild, uneducated and unresonable guesses holding no substance. Jesus said that He is the only way to the Father. This is not intolerant. It is truth. Only the truth is truth; nomatter how much anyone wishes it differently. It is not intolerant, it is the truth. Only when we come to God will we receive light, and begin to see and understand. Only then will our eyes be opened.
There is no other way to the Father than through Jesus Christ.
"Whosoever denies the Son (Jesus), the same has not the Father: he that acknowledges the Son has the Father also." 1 John 2:23
"Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." Acts 4:12
A good illustration is the story about 2 people living in a dark cavern with no light at all. For years they have stumbled around every which way they went. Any understanding they have about the world, themselves and what they encounter are extremely limited. Suddenly one of them sees a light in a room in the cavern. He gasps in shock and joy as he begins to understand the world and himself in a whole new and deeper way. He now has light, in which he sees everything. Then he calls out to his friend who is roaming around in the dark, shouting that he mush come to the light, that the world is much different than the two of them had previously thought. Where they used to have theories about things, the light reveals them differently, or more precisely. However, the friend just laughs at him and calls him crazy. As far he is concerned, he understands the world correctly, and he needs none of this so-called "light" that his friend goes on about. No matter how much his friend talks about this light, and no matter how much thought he has given it, he still does not understand the light at all, and does not really think it exists. After all, he has never seen it himself. And he never will, until he comes to it. He can not just say "It does not come to me on my terms, so it must not exist". Such a saying is foolish indeed. The light exists no matter what anyone thinks or claims.
In a similar way Jesus is the light of the world: "Then spoke Jesus again to them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that follows me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life." John 8:12. When a person is convicted and convinced of his own sinful heart, he repents and asks God for forgiveness. Then it is as if a light goes on in his life. He was living in darkness, his mind and heart clouded, but now seeing the world as it really is in truth.
The transformation happening when a person repents and is forgiven of his sins, is this: "Jesus answered and said to him, Truly, truly, I say to you, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." John 3:3. When a person repents and is forgiven, he is actually "born again". His spirit is awakened, and he is reborn. In 2 Corinthians 5:17 we read "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." All the old things are gone, and we are forgiven of our sins. We are a new creation, everything made new. We are Gods children and have His Spirit in us. We are starting as if a newborn baby, God intending for us to grow up, and mature. Now obviously we will not understand everything immediately, but as we walk through life we will see more and more, because we are walking in the light. Everything makes sense in the light of God, and through it we are able to understand what we could not without God. A man without God is man without wisdom and love. Without God we can touch on the borderline/sketch of things, and we only understand partially. But when the heart turns from sin and to God, we receive light. One can never claim to come to God without also having a convinced heart of sin toward God. Some people claim to have "tried" God. But crying to God when they need help from the trouble that their sin has thrown them in is not the same as being convinced and convicted of their own sin, and wanting to turn from it unto God, which is neccessary to find Him.
"Nevertheless when it (the heart) shall turn to the Lord, the veil shall be taken away." 2 Corinthians 3:16
"I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen: not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else." - C. S. Lewis
